Job Description: Sr. DBA - Hadoop & SQL server

 

Responsibilities:
Hadoop Ecosystem cluster implementation and support of day to day tasks.
• Operational support of distributed database platforms (SQL Server preferred)
• Maintain, Monitor and Troubleshoot Hadoop ecosystem for efficiency & stability of environments.
• Helpdesk & On call support.
• Capability to troubleshoot & work on reported production issues.
• Collaborate with project teams and vendors.
• Ensure secure system by creating and following corporate security policies.
• Develop & record certified processes/procedures for Hadoop support group.

 
Required Skills:
• Install and configure various components of Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, ZOOKEEPER, KAFKA, HIVE, SPARK, Hue and Sentry) and maintain their integrity.
• Provide administration & support for Hadoop Cluster, adding and removing nodes using Cloudera Manager
• Perform monitoring & troubleshooting of Hadoop ecosystem services issues, performance analysis, ensuring security.
• Expert knowledge on Active Directory/LDAP security integration with Cloudera Big Data platform. Familiarity with the working model of Kerberos.
• Provide user onboarding of Hadoop users & support of day to day tasks
• Configuration of directories & support of Postgres/oracle DBs.
• Perform services install, configure settings and other administration tasks using Cloudera admin tool.
• Knowledge of TLS implementation with Cloudera.
• Implement upgrades, patch updates & fixes as needed
• Monitor Hadoop cluster job performances and perform capacity planning
• Developing and testing Unix Shell scripts, scripting in Perl, Java and coding required for Hadoop.
• Experience with Shell, Perl & Java scripting and automation of Hadoop administration and associated core Hadoop ecosystem.
• Experience with Cloud, NOSQL databases or any of the RDBMS databases like Oracle, SQL Server or DB2 would be preferred.
• Ansible knowledge is added advantage.

 
Soft Skills:
• Good aptitude and Team Player, Positive attitude, Strong Analytical, Reasoning, and Communication skills (verbal and written).

Indicative years of experience: 4.5 to 6 years

 

Must have

Education: Graduate – Bachelor’s degree (any stream)

Other: Sound technical skills, interpersonal skills, good experience in estimation methodologies, excellent communication and time management skills required. Self-motivated, strong desire to learn and maintain professional and technical knowledge
